When we’re looking…we’re looking for someone outside of ourselves to validate us, to accept us, to take us in as we are.

But as I’ve observed in quite a few people around me, sometimes the more you look, the less you find. Over time, the very process of looking starts to convince you that you’re looking because you’re missing something. And nobody’s looking for someone who seems like they’re missing something.

But if you decide to stop looking outward for so much, and take the time to look inward for your own validation, approval, and care, suddenly you’re someone to look out for.

Work on being more of yourself, and figuring out who that is, and you’ll often find that the more you do that, the more you just might be the one they’re looking for.
