So maybe we should try doing that sometimes. It’s the only thing you can do perfectly, if you can’t accept less than perfection.
The scary thing is, this is what perfectionists often end up doing. After too many failed attempts at perfection, instead of giving up on the idea of perfection, they give up trying at all.
They don’t change their standards, they stop their efforts.
If you want to do perfectly nothing, remain a perfectionist.
If you want growth, progress, happiness, and fulfillment, adjust your expectations and keep making effort.
Controlling what you can (what you do), and letting go of what you can’t (how perfect it turns out)…that’s how anyone does anything.
The rest just do…
